UpTime core enables a rich set of content management services for controlling both content and processes throughout distributed organisations. UpTime enables organizations to store, manage, and deploy all types of content, including SGML and XML, graphics, multimedia, and other types of information types as well as traditional documents.

Data Connectors

UpTime fully integrates with Oracle 10g, allowing organisations to use the full potential of their content – for sophisticated content management and content retrieval tasks and with Microsoft SQL Server for sophisticated content retrieval tasks.

Unified Data Model

UpTime implements a unified data model based on a unique object relational model. Every data structure representing content, users, workflows, lifecycles, and others is stored as an object in the data model. Each content object consists of properties (also known as metadata or attributes) stored in the data model to enable high-speed queries or filtering and access to content assets.

Version Management

Versioning allows organisations to create new versions of content; track what version is currently published; and maintains previous versions for auditing or recovery purposes.

UpTime fully implements versioning of dynamic content. The core function of versioning can be configured to be different for different content or data types, Content may have full versioning and version history, content may only be available in the latest version and content may not have any versioning at all.

Variant Management

The management phase of dynamic content involves keeping track of content and content variants. Content delivered to customers as part of a product or service is a critical asset that must be managed. Without strong variant management, even a perfect authoring and review process can break in the management phase. UpTime helps organisations meet the challenge of managing dynamically changing product and content variants that occurs from a continuous flow of new products, content updates, addition of multiple languages and distribution channels.

UpTime fully implements administration of product and content variants, configuration of products and content that exist in more than one version, and provide and assure the consistency and complete configuration via object dependencies.

Properties, Metadata and Attributes

Object properties (also known as metadata or attributes) are associated with each content type and can easily be customized, configured and extended.

Organisations using UpTime can easily expand object properties to accommodate their specific properties as part of each object. The properties are then used for search, filtering, personalisation, categorisation, or other purposes.

Configuration Management

As content relations become larger and more complex, they present a tremendous challenge in terms of content management. Although version control of content is a step in the right direction, dependencies between content, managing the content approval process, and the testing and validating of a set of logical content changes prior to publishing or distributing them are additional needs of organisations.
